Coronavirus Survivor Urges The Public 'Please Don't Panic'

Elizabeth Schneider had the coronavirus and has recovered. She urges the public not to panic.

The 37 year old from Seattle shares her symptoms and experience with the virus. Schneider stated that she began to feel unwell at work. Her symptoms included “feeling tired, body aches, getting a headache, feeling a little bit feverish.”

Once she got home, she took a nap and woke up with a 101 degree fever and “by the time I went to bed, it had soared to 103 degrees.”

At first she thought she had gotten the flu, along with a dozen other of her friends with had the same symptoms. Doctors did not test them for the coronavirus however, all of them tested negative for the flu.

Schneider found out about a Seattle flu study. Participants sign up online and send in a nasal swab. They recently started testing for coronavirus and that is how she was able to confirm she had coronavirus.

Schneider stated, "I think the big takeaway I want to tell everyone is: Please don't panic. If you are healthy, if you are younger, if you take good care of yourself when you're sick, you will recover, I believe. And I'm living proof of that."

After staying home, resting and taking over-the-counter medications, Schneider said she recovered.
